West Sussex Maisonette refurb

Our client's investment property right on the doorstep of Gatwick airport required a total refurbishment. This gallery doesn't tell the full story however as I had to clear the entire contents of the flat (x4 8yd skips worth) before I could get started on turning it into what is now a delightful property ready to go on the market. After the plumbers installed a brand new central heating smart system I took it from there.

Stripping the walls!

The plaster boarded walls where covered entirely with Anaglypta which when stripped left the walls needing to be lined before any decorating could begin. Whats that you say? Boring job? Nooooooo!! not at all! 

Window replaced

A shower tray had been installed but unfortunately it encroached on the Bathroom window so I had to remove the old window, build the wall out a bit and install a new, smaller window.

Bathroom spruce up

New basin and vanity, new toilet and the rather cobbled together plumbing tidied up, a deep clean and its done. No, not the most impressive bathroom but certainly adequate for an investor to market the property.

New Kitchen

Removing the kitchen tiles essentially destroyed the original plasterboard walls so I decided to install OSB panels to the studs prior to over boarding with new plaster board and lining paper. This would enable easy installation of cabinets or shelving to the walls. Then the new cabinets, worktop, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, hob and recirculating hood and windowsill.

New laminate flooring and doors

Final stages now! The new floor and doors transform the property, just had to paint the woodwork and walls then it was finished! After 2 weeks in a Premier Inn I was very happy to head home to Colchester!
